After months of debate in these pages and others, FINALLY, citizens get to tell the state's Energy Facility Site Evaluation Committee (EFSEC) what they think about the Laidlaw Berlin BioPower application. So if you have any thoughts, feelings or opinions, show up and voice them on Tuesday March 16, 2010 at the Berlin Junior High School Auditorium at 7:00 PM.
This Committee needs to hear your views on this project.
Also, it would be helpful for your elected representatives to hear from people about this project. . Let Tom McHugh know your thoughts and please encourage family, relatives, friends and neighbors to contact him (752-1238; atty@tfmccue.com) with their views.
People don't know this is an opportunity to speak their mind? Not enough people get involved with reading these blogs. Laidlaw is advertising that this hearing coming up is an informational meeting, not an opportunity to be heard. No one else is advertising to stir people into action. No one is posting here. Very few are posting anywhere. A sizable pro Laidlaw contingency will show up and convince the State that Berlin is for this. The city council will not take sides, the mayor will endorse the project. Berlin will continue to sleep in their own ignorance. Berlin deserves exactly what it will get which is a huge producer of quality of life negatives and very little tax revenue or net resulting jobs.
