Today was perhaps the most beautiful morning I've experienced in Berlin. The sun was out, the mists were rising on the river, it was perfect running temperature outside, a little cool, but warm in the sun.
Tell me this isn't one of the most beautiful places on the planet? Actually that was a major part of the conversation at the City Council last night, so I must not be the only one who thinks this way. There is something about the light and the mountains that is just magical. This was what the river looked like as I was crossing the pedestrian bridge.
And of course, I had to pass my favorite garden on the way home. I don't know the gardener's name, but she's one determined lady, bringing color and beauty to every square inch of her lot. She claims she has the worst dirt in town, but on this tiny lot she manages to grow tomatoes, a lovely cascading rock garden and some gorgeous flowers
My favorite trick that I learned from her is that she throws all of her excess perennials onto the vacant lot next door so that they come back in wild profusion the next year. Ten points if you can guess where it is... Hint: it is somewhere along this running route:
I was out this weekend and stumbled across this:
If you can be the first one to fire off an email to me at mpinard@kdpaine.com, and tell me where this photo was taken and what it is a picture of (stairs to the ..... ),I will send you a gas card from Irving for $5.00. Hey - at least it is a gallon of gas!
Good luck!
Hint: It was taken in Coos County.
CONGRATULATIONS TO NORM C. FOR CORRECTLY ANSWERING TODAY'S "WHERE IS IT" QUESTION!
THE PICTURE IS OF THE STAIRS TO A GRIST MILL THAT USED TO BE LOCATED ON PHILLIPS BROOK IN CRYSTAL (STARK) ON PLAIN ROAD. THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED!!!
